I really enjoyed these trash haikus made by the students of an art educator friend of mine.

Just one more example of preteens who are cooler than I’ll ever be.

99 degrees + malfunctioning air conditioning + this lovely picture really makes me want to go swimming. Really.

In 2010, my mom, my brother, Meredith and I found ourselves in Massachusetts over Memorial Day weekend— not far from where my family used to live (until I was 7 years old) in Old Lyme, CT. My mom hatched a plan to drive over to Old Lyme for the Memorial Day parade. The town is so small, I’d say half of the residents are in the parade, so it’s a whole lot of fun. We drank lemonade, waved flags, reminisced, and afterwards we ate really good clam chowder for lunch.

Happy Memorial Day, time to break out your finest white threads.
